It's Official....

Kenneth proposed, and we're engaged!! Formally, I mean; we do already own a house together.... But since the whole point was to have a story to tell, here it is:
It was a Monday morning, and our Alexander Technique teacher training class was just breaking for tea. I asked Kenneth if he wanted to walk with me to the local bakery for a muffin, and he said, "In a minute. I want to try something first. Will you come over here and let me work on this leg thing that Amira [a classmate] showed me last week?" Dutifully I followed him over to sit on a short stool, where he got down on his knees to move my feet around (the "leg thing"). To my astonished amazement, he pulled out a ring and asked, "Michele Drivon, will you marry me?" Amira, in cahoots with Kenneth, had meanwhile arranged for the rest of the class to be audience to my instantaneous "YES!" We got a round of applause, and they even made us reenact it on Tuesday, then threw us an engagement tea party the following week. Thank you, K-Bear, for knowing that I would want this delightful moment to be shared with our community!
In other news, Kenneth is excited to start a new job at Teance, an elegant tea house where he'll have to know the intimate details of serving sixty-five different teas. He and his high-school friend Michal have been meeting up every weekend for rock climbing... as soon as the soreness fades, he's out again! My household is shifting around; one housemate is moving out, so Kenneth and I will move into his room (much bigger than the one I've had) and kitchenette. We've had some hits and some misses in the movies we've watched this month: thumbs up to Little Miss Sunshine, Safemen, and The Cooler; thumbs down to The Butterfly Effect and Idiocracy. Just so's ya know.
We hope all of you are keeping well and looking forward to a great year. Our love to you!
